Latin America. The Instituto de Políticas de Medios y Comunicación (IFM) released its annual global ranking of media companies, in which the Brazilian firm Globo stands out for being the best placed company in Latin America by ranking number 25 on the list.
According to the results of the study, Globo would be the largest media corporation in the region , reporting revenues of US$6.2 billion in 2011. For its part, the Mexican Televisa was ranked 32nd in the ranking with US $ 4,700 million in revenue last year, these two companies being the only ones in Latin America included in the list.
The ranking, which lists the world's 52 largest media companies based on financial reports from last year, was led by Comcast/NBC thanks to its $52.8 billion revenue and the Walt Disney Company with $38.6 billion.
