Mexico. The television production company Azteca presented its financial results for the third quarter of 2011 to the local authorities.
Among the figures revealed by the company is that its EBITDA (Income before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) grew by 17%, while net sales increased by 8%.
This translates into net sales of 3,030 million pesos (about US$224 million) and EBITDA of 1,287 million pesos (about US$95 million). Overall, the company indicated that it had recorded a net profit of 380 million pesos (about US$28 million).
The organization's executives were highly satisfied with the results and stressed that the above figures represent the largest increase in its history for a third quarter.
"We achieved outstanding sales this period, in the context of higher audience levels that generated growing demand for advertising spaces in Mexico and the United States, as well as an enormous interest in our content in the rest of the world," said Mario San Román, CEO of Azteca, when announcing the figures.
Finally, when taking stock of the first nine months of the year, the results show that there was an increase of 2% compared to net sales in the same period of 2010.
