. The International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM) launched a new study called "Broadcast and Media Technology: Strategy and Assessment of the Global Market for 2015", which talks about the recovery and growth of the industry in the world.
The main findings of the report show a 6% growth in the technology section in broadcast and media from 2009 to 2010. In addition, a financial data reveals that the industry will grow around the same level as the Gross Domestic Product for 2015, although there will be some annual differences, including periods in which there will be declines.
The report indicates that in 2012 the industry would return to the size it was in 2008. "Our industry, like others, suffered from the economic downturn, but it's encouraging to see how it's recovering. Although those times were very hard and all the companies made difficult decisions, there were very few casualties in this business," said Peter White, CEO of IABM.
The executive added that "the industry is seeing a paradigm shift today, with traditional broadcasting augmented by online services for multi-screen consumers."
Companies such as Avid, Axon, EVS, Grass Valley, Harmonic, Harris, Miranda, Nevion, Quantel, Snell, Sony, and Vitec Group participated in the construction of this study, all members of IAMB, if they wish to acquire the full report they can enter here.
