United States. Avid was recognized by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with an Emmy Award for the development and production of a tapeless recording system created by the company in the mid-1990s with its partner Ikegami, which aims to improve the way production teams recorded, captured and edited video content outside the studio.
The award was presented at CES 2011 and becomes the third to receive the firm in the last twelve months. Some of the most popular cameras implement this system that includes functions such as navigation of non-linear files, the management of them through folders with the possibility of deleting clips, metadata tags for them, connectivity via LAN / WAN, among others.
"Innovation is at the core of everything we do and Avid is honored and privileged to be recognized again by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for our role in developing technology that enables our customers to be more collaborative and productive," said Kirk Arnold (pictured), Avid's chief executive officer.
