Designed specifically for animators and computer graphics professionals, ImageModeler is an application that allows the production of three-dimensional models from photographic images, video and still images. It eliminates the hassle of building complex models from scratch and lets the application take care of the hard work. By selecting points indicated in a small series of four photographs of the object, this application develops a model of high photorealistic quality.
Modeling geometric elements and creating realistic-looking models are a complex and difficult task, in addition to the high demand for time they demand. With this application, photorealistic quality models can be created very accurately in less time than that required by conventional computer modeling techniques. From a series of still images, the application can capture the three-dimensional geometry and textures of objects to offer high-quality three-dimensional models, intended for the creation of compatible content on the web and also for the design of 3D content required in professional audiovisual production.
How does ImageModeler work?
The work in this application begins with the capture of images of an object either by means of photographs or by filming it from different points of view. The images are digitized and imported from the application. All images are displayed simultaneously and, at that time, you can select a few corresponding points on the object within each of the images. At that time, the software calculates the coordinates of the vertices of the objects. Then, automatically as well, it extracts the polygonal mesh that can be edited. Finally, the original digital images are used to produce texture maps attached to the surfaces of the models. The result is a model that can be exported for digital composition, animation or CAD applications for completion.

This application for 3D modeling is available to run on the Windows NT platform.
