The Ibero-American Educational Television program was approved in 1992, as an instrument for cooperation and the promotion of the production and dissemination of educational materials, by the Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government held in Madrid, Spain.
Promoted by the Spanish Government, it is financed mainly by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Spain and with the economic contribution of Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Honduras, Mexico, Panama and Venezuela, countries to which all those of Ibero-America will be added.
Currently, and through the interaction and participation between all its associated organizations, this program's mission is to contribute to the development of education in the countries of Ibero-America through the use of television and other means derived from new communication and information technologies.
Ibero-American Educational Television Association
In the same year 1992, and with the task of managing this Ibero-American Cooperation Program, the Ibero-American Educational Television Association was created, whose headquarters are located in Madrid and, from there, under the direction of the General Secretariat, the programming activities are carried out, production and transmission of the satellite television signal, and where relations and agreements with partners and other institutions are managed.
