TecnoTelevisión University Competition, second version

Stories of technological innovation is the proposed theme for the audiovisual pieces that will participate in the second version of the TecnoTelevisión University Contest, an event that this year will be held in November.

After the success achieved during the first version in 2013, in which 30 works were received from different universities in the country, TV Y VIDEO magazine announces the second version of the TecnoTelevisión 2014 University Contest, aimed at all students of careers related to audiovisual production in Colombia.

The Tecnotelevisión University Competition is organized by the magazine TV Y VIDEO, with the support of the Pontifical Bolivarian University. In this second version it is oriented to audiovisual productions on stories of technological innovation. The Contest understands innovation as a way to grow, progress, develop that allows a certain population quality of life that is more than well-being and progress for the society we inhabit.

That is why Tecnolevisión supports from the Contest university filmmakers who show and give testimony from their achievements, of people who in their regions and communities provide unprecedented solutions based on technology, to great problems and respond to the needs of people and society.

The productions will have as protagonists ordinary human beings who many are invisible but who from their actions and their daily struggle impact their environment with technological innovations that change lifestyles and promote the quality of life.

Contest rules
A jury, made up of three experienced industry professionals, will choose five finalists from among all the contestants. The five selected works will be available for virtual voting 15 days before TecnoTelevisión and physical voting during the first day of the event. The winner will be the one with the highest number of votes.

A representative of each finalist work will be invited to Bogotá with all expenses paid to participate in the TecnoTelevisión Academic Program and in the award ceremony.

The creators of the winning audiovisual piece will receive:

  • Recognition plate
  • Article in the magazine TV Y Video highlighting the profile of the winners and the audiovisual piece.
  • Panasonic Video Camera


Winner of the first version: Esteban Ruiz
The winner of the first version of the TecnoTelevisión 2013 University Contest was the work Conectada a la vida, produced by Esteban Ruiz, a student at the Colombian Polytechnic Jaime Isaza Cadavid.

Esteban Ruíz received as a prize a plaque that recognizes him as the winner of the First University Contest TecnoTelevisión, a professional 3D camera from Sony and his profile was highlighted in the magazine TV and VIDEO. On that occasion, the jury of the Contest that chose the finalists was composed of Emilio Manjarrés, Camilo Vergara and Leonardo Ramírez.

During the award ceremony of the Contest, Andrew Nelles, representative of Sony, in addition to delivering the professional 3D camera, decided that the five finalists were winners and awarded each one the Sony Vegas editing software.

The dates of registration and delivery of the material will be published soon.  TecnoTelevisión 2014 will be held in Pavilion Four of the Corferias Convention Center in Bogotá, Colombia, on November 6 and 7. This year's award event will be held in November within the framework of Tecnotelevisión.
