With almost 1,500 exhibitors confirmed in 800 thousand square feet and with the goal of surpassing the 22,485 international participants from 157 countries of the previous version, the NAB Show 2011 will be held, between Saturday, April 9 and Thursday, April 14, as is traditional, in Las Vegas, United States.

This year the fair explores the most avant-garde innovations through interactive exhibits, in education, live demonstrations and technology-focused pavilions.

Academic events start from Saturday, while the exhibition will open its doors to the public from Monday.

Academic agenda
As is characteristic of the NAB Show, the academic part represents a fundamental aspect. For this year there are a little more than 20 conferences that will be offered, which are divided into 4 categories.

Of these, half are held for the first time at the fair. Depending on the topics, some will have conferences scheduled for every day or a single day.

In the category of Content Creation, which will have conferences between April 9 and 13, the topic will be addressed: A high-level perspective of business, technology and creativity in the industry.

On Content Management, which has programming from April 9 to 14, dominates the art of integration. Attendees will be able to find information about new solutions in workflow, storage, recovery, asset sharing, and security.

The two conferences scheduled for the Trade category will be held on April 13. They are focused on how to buy and sell content in this market, aimed at any of the sectors that participate in it: digital distribution, advertising, financing or content acquisition.

In Distribution and Delivery, the results of the integration of the contents and the most innovative advances for the delivery and dissemination of content, fiber, mobile video, broadband and streaming will be presented. Of the six scheduled conferences, four are new.

Please note that all sessions, unless stated as "open to all", require paid or paid conference registration.

Pavilions
In total, there will be 13 pavilions that are divided between those of technology and those of international presence. Six are topics related to the latest technology for the television industry, and it is at this point where one of the novelties of the fair for this year is located, because there is a new one.

The pavilions are: access to telecommunications networks (new); Live, local and on-the-Go mobile DTV; broadband destination; one dedicated to 3D; international research; and one that seeks to introduce new revenue streams, business models and profit centers for all forms of content.

The remaining seven pavilions are dedicated to an equal number of countries, which will bring a group of companies that have an important representation in the industry, supported by the foreign trade promotion agencies of each country and the ministries of economy or trade.

This is the case of Bavaria, which officially participates for the eighth time in the NAB 2011 Show. China's representation is organized by the Beijing Municipal Commission on Commerce.

Through Apex-Brasil and the Investment and Export Promotion Agency, that country seeks to open new markets, consolidate and expand the activities of Brazilian companies.

The French Agency for the Development of International Business, will present the latest innovative companies in the field of broadcasting technology and media.

Spain will bring 18 companies with the latest technology in the broadcasting industry, with state-of-the-art, services and solutions that adapt to the needs of customers.

Finally there is the pavilion of the United Kingdom, a country that is seen as a pioneer in digital production technology.

Industry Awards
In addition, as is tradition, during the fair awards will be given to individuals and organizations that have stood out for their important contributions to the broadcasting, entertainment and community service industries.

In the Broadcasting Hall of Fame category, radio Cristal will be awarded to a radio station and Cristal del Patrimonio will be awarded to a station that has won five Radio Cristal awards.

Other categories are Distinguished Service, Engineering Achievement, Best Book, Technology Innovation, and President of Television.

Everything is ready for you to learn from the latest industry trends and equipment at NAB 2011.
