ATEME
ATEME's Kyrion encoder and decoder is the seed of professional solutions based on a field-programmable gate array (FPGA), with no ASIC or CPU support.
Its 50% free calculation allows ATEME to provide continuous VQ improvements and support for UHD and HEVC through a simple update software.
ASIC can withstand low lactation and fast start-up time but is usually expensive and not easy to upgrade over the life of the product unlike UHD AND HEVC for example.
