ARRI announces the new ALEXA Mini, a new tool for this series that combines compact design and light weight. Equipped with a 4:3 sensor, it handles the automatic De-squeeze mode for anamorphic productions and frame rates of 0.75-200 fps.
The ALEXA Mini records uncompressed ProRes or ARRIRAW either on the camera itself for CFast 2.0 cards or for special designs with external Codex recorders that can record image sequences of up to 4 ALEXA Mini simultaneously, an attractive option for multi-camera configurations such as 360° plate shots.
The images produced by this camera will perfectly match those of the other ALEXA. It can be operated in different ways: wireless remote control, like a normal camera with the ARRI MVF-1 multiple viewfinder attached, or with an onboard monitor and controlled via user interface on the camera body button.
