BlackBerry reduce sus pérdidas un 83,8% pero sufre en Bolsa

WATERLOO (CANADA), 28 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Canadian company BlackBerry recorded in the first quarter of its fiscal year, which ended on June 1, a net loss of 84 million dollars (64 million euros), 83.8 percent less than the 518 million dollars (396 million euros) it lost in the same period of the previous year, according to the company, which plummeted about 20 percent in the pre-opening of Wall Street.

The result obtained in its first fiscal quarter is worse than the market expected and contrasts with the 98 million dollars (75 million euros) it earned in the last three months of its previous year, which ended on March 2.

The Turnover of the Canadian company plummeted in this period to 3,071 million dollars (2,351 million euros), which is 9.4 percent more compared to the first fiscal quarter of 2012 and 14.7 percent more than in the previous quarter.

BlackBerry CEO and President Thorsten Heins noted that the company has focused this first quarter on the global deployment of the BlackBerry 10 platform, noting that although it is still in its initial phase of launch, it is proving to customers to be "a very secure, flexible and dynamic computing solution."

"Over the next three quarters, we will increase our investments to support the deployment of new products and services and to demonstrate that BlackBerry has positioned itself as a leading and brilliant player in the next generation of mobile solutions for both consumers and enterprise customers."
