Changes are coming at Microsoft: This is going to become the Titanic

Se avecinan cambios en Microsoft: Esto se va a convertir en el Titanic

MADRID, 24 Jun. (Portaltic/EP) -

Several senior Microsoft executives fear for their continuity in the company before the possible and upcoming remodeling of the workforce. In addition, most of the members of the company do not know the direction of the future changes that apparently are going to be undertaken. Anonymous sources predict steep cuts and compare it to the sinking of the Titanic.

According to sources close to the technology giant cited by All Things Digital, it is very likely that microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will reveal his plans to restructure the company by July 1. In this way, the staff would be formed only by a group, still large, of senior executives.

Given these expectations, many of Microsoft's senior officials fear for their future within the company since they have not received very little information from Ballmer. Apparently, it has only had the consensus of a very small group of members of its trust.

This uncertainty coupled with the impossibility of doing anything in the face of the impending change has produced a general discontent within Microsoft, including many of the most veteran positions.

"This looks like it's going to become the Titanic," said one of the people involved in the situation, "and it's the first time in a long time that there have been such significant changes including layoffs."

In addition, it is worth mentioning that there have already been several senior executives who have left the company in recent years. These include Kevin Johnson, who became CEO of Juniper Networks after 16 years at Microsoft; and Jeff Raikes, the current CEO of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation who had joined Microsoft in 1960.
