MADRID, 1 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -
Jazztel shares lost more than 5 percent on the stock market on Wednesday, after Telefonica announced an "aggressive reduction" in its ADSL offer, according to analysts consulted by Europa Press.
Specifically, the shares of the operator chaired by Leopoldo Fernández Pujals, which on Tuesday closed with a fall of 1.54 percent, lost 5.64 percent on Wednesday, to 3.38 euros per share, while the shares of Telefónica added 3 percent, to 14.51 euros.
BPI analysts indicated that Telefónica's ADSL offer at a price of 24.9 euros from the current 40.9 euros, in addition to implying a significant reduction in the revenues of Telefónica's fixed segment in Spain, could have some implications on the structure of the market due to the "good reception" of this product, which converges fixed and mobile telephony and benefits integrated operators.
The move by Movistar, which announced a new broadband offer for current and new ADSL customers who also have or sign a mobile contract with the company, was seconded within a few hours by the competition.
In this sense, Orange launched a new program 'Combine and Save', which offers discounts of up to 15 euros per month "forever", both to new customers and those in the portfolio as long as they have "at least" two products of the company.
