Adobe Dreamweaver is a studio application (based on the Adobe Flash studio form) focused on building and editing standards-based Web sites and applications. Initially created by Macromedia (currently produced by Adobe Systems). It is the most used program of this type in the web design and programming sector, for its functionalities, its integration with other tools such as Adobe Flash and, recently, for its support of the standards of the World Wide Web Consortium. Its main competitor is Microsoft Expression Web and it has support for both image editing and animation through its integration with others. Until the MX version, it was harshly criticized for its poor support of web standards, as the code it generated was often only valid for Internet Explorer, and did not validate as standard HTML. This has been corrected in recent versions.
Adobe Dreamweaver allows you to create sites in a completely graphic way, and has functions to access the generated HTML code. It allows the connection to a server, to database, support for programming in ASP, PHP, Javascript, integrated FTP client, etc.
Adobe Dreamweaver is the main competition of Microsoft FrontPage.
