Argentina. Around 3 million people already have the Digital Television service due to the operation of 27 ground stations that allow the sending of this signal to 50% of the national population.
It is expected that by the end of this year 75% of the population will enjoy this service, as revealed by the Minister of Federal Planning, Julio De Vido, at the time when he inaugurated three stations located in the towns of Santiago del Estero, Santa Rosa (La Pampa) and Santo Tomé (Santa Fe).
With these three stations, one million users will have access to a programming grid with educational, cultural, sports, news and children's channels. "We want a federal integration, with content that includes all Argentines and with a digital system that will be enhanced over time," said the representative of the Argentine government.
The minister also delivered 750,000 set-top boxes for homes that are part of the Operational Plan for Access to the "Mi TV Digital" Equipment.
