United States. Blackmagic Design reported that Ocean Video integrated its 3Gb/s 16 x 16 router Micro Videohub within the 3D HD video assistant panel to be used on the set of the fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
Ocean Video was selected to generate the mobile 3D environment for the film. The Micro Videohub allowed the film's management and technicians to observe the multi-camera channels needed for 3D work, as well as allowing them to work on any location with a wide variety of cameras and other devices.
"Pirates of the Caribbean was shot entirely in 3D, which doubles the amount of work for the router. The Micro Videohub made it possible to carry four video streams from two red cameras together, change views and direct signals when needed," said Jeb Johenning, president of Ocean Video.
