The company announced that its line of HD products and technologies was integrated into the new production facility that Fox Sports built in Mexico.
The facility is designed to facilitate a tapeless workflow and features an Aurora digital platform for news production and several K2 Summit workstations for automated 24/7 distribution of all Fox Sports and Fox Sports Latin America programming.
Fox Sports chose Grass Valley's digital news production platform (DNP) that spans the entire content creation cycle, from acquisition to production and broadcast, and includes feed capture; non-linear editing; navigation; reproduction; and server, storage, and archiving solutions.
This project, integrated by Comtelsat, is one of the largest in development in the television sector in Mexico and is developed in two phases. The first of these includes the Aurora and K2 Summit systems, as well as the Concerto video switcher , the Encore control software, the master control system for SD7HD Maestro and hundreds of modules for the conversion of signals from the GeckoFle line.
The second phase involves the installation of two Kayenne production sites and twelve LDK 3000 HD cameras to support two new HD production studios that are fully operational.
