Ensemble Designs presented at NAB a new automatic control of audio levels for the television industry. LevelTrack allows broadcasters to control differences in audio levels between various programs, segments within a program, and commercials.
LevelTrack corrects for inequalities in volume levels that are prevalent due to inconsistencies between different providers and elements of the programs used.
By adjusting the overall signal level, instead of masking errors with compression, LevelTrack does not jeopardize the internal dynamics of the material. LevelTrack is part of the Avenue Signal Integration system and can be used in conjunction with the sixteen-channel 9600 embedder and desembing machine, as well as other Ensemble Designs audio products.
According to Robert Nunez of Ensemble Designs, "this is the greatest way to adjust audio levels and maintain fidelity to what the sound engineer originally developed."
