In January, the Media Composer raffled by Avid was delivered among the attendees of the Digital Television Seminar Without Stress, organized by TV y Video, which was held on September 23 and 24, 2009 in Bogotá, Colombia.
The winner of this software for professional editing was Andrés Darío Torres, representative of the Communications Directorate of the Minuto de Dios University, located in Colombia, who during the seminar visited the Avid stand in search of information on the latest developments in audio and video editing to update the processes and equipment of television production of the University.
According to Ángel Ylisastigui, Avid's Marketing Manager for Latin America, in the third version of the Digital Television Seminar, which will be held on September 22 and 23, 2010, the company will hold a new raffle of some of its products among the attendees, regardless of whether or not they have experience with Avid tools. "Once users purchase one of our products, they have all the support and technical support of local distributors and our offices in the United States to guarantee their maximum benefit."
According to Jesús Lozano, general manager of Videoelec, Avid's distribution company for Colombia, the Media Composer is used in more than 90% of television production in the country. This software speeds up editing with precise tools; mixes and synchronizes formats, frame rates and resolutions in the same timeline; instantly access and edit XDCAM, P2 and GFCAM media directly via AMA (Avid Media Access); locate the best shots thanks to ScriptSync; and get real-time HD editing and optimal master image quality with Avid DNxHD, among other features.
