Euphonix presented at IBC a new control surface specially designed for use with Apple Color, the color correction component of Final Cut Studio. MC Color connects to the host MAC via ethernet, and offers an interface based on optical trackballs , rotary controls and programmable keys that offer functionality equivalent to that of third-party hardware-based solutions.
MC Color can be used with portable equipment, which together with its small size can make it an interesting option for use on location, especially in filming special effects sequences. The manufacturer claims that thanks to its expertise in designing digital audio consoles and control surfaces for multiple applications, the MC Color controller offers response times that make the colorist's experience virtually identical to that of the most sophisticated and expensive solutions on the market.
