The company has named P. Harris Morris as the new president of the Broadcast Communications business. Prior to his appointment to this role, Morris served as vice president and general manager of the Media and Workflow area that is part of the business he now chairs.
Morris holds an MBA from Harvard University and an honors degree in Economics and Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. His written works have been published in media such as the Financial Times and Catalyst magazine.
Prior to being hired by Harris Corporation in 2008, Morris was chief strategy officer for Thomson Corporation's Learning Division where he played a pivotal role in developing Thomson's growth strategy for international channel expansion and digital products.
He was also a partner and vice president of Bain & Company, a global business consulting firm. During 13 years at this organization, Morris helped a wide variety of international clients analyze markets, develop growth strategies, expand within international markets, and drive operational efficiency.
According to Howard L. Lance, President and Chief Executive Officer of Harris, "as Vice President of our Media and Workflow areas he has spearheaded the strategy of taking existing hardware and software applications and developing new technology to address emerging media such as out-of-home digital networks."
