Broadcast Pix Announces DVI I/O for Slate Switchers

Broadcast Pix introduced version 6.0 of the software for its Slate switcher and an optional DVI input/output card. All Slate switchers are scalable to provide HDTV inputs and outputs.

Broadcast Pix presented a Optional DVI input/output card for your new switcher slate line.

The modular architecture Slate inputs/outputs have three I/O cards, including: digital SD, analog, and by the end of this year, HD for 720p and 1080i. The new DVI card allows you to add both input as DVI output. It also includes adapters for VGA I/O. New DVI or VGA output allows slate feed a high-resolution signal directly to a projector. Since the Slate is commonly employed with laptop inputs via an S video input, new DVI or VGA input allows for high-resolution input from a computer.

During NAB 2007, Broadcast Pix introduced version 6.0 of the software for the Slate line. The version 6 adds compressed clip support, including QuickTime, and a parameterizable multi-view for any monitor size, which includes the huge recessed screens on the wall. Version 6.0 also offers the software AutoAspect, to enable 16:9 and 4:3 content to enable be exchanged and mixed together in the same production in live, while maintaining the native aspect ratio for each element. Additionally, the new options of the version 6 include audio-follow software; software for the automatic control of an audio mixer with Midi; keyers and up to six picture-in-picture boxes; PowerAux to realize them keying to secondary exits; eight chromakeys for the coupling with still stored images and with clips for virtual creation of set, in addition to CG Connect, which allows that an external database updates charts to the air.

The Slate 100 switcher, based on touch screen (whose price starts at US $ 9,995) was presented at NAB 2006, and includes a switcher, an Inscriber generator of built-in characters, storage of still sockets and full movement, multi-view monitoring. Formats Input include digital SDI and analog composites, S and component. The Slate 1000 (from $19,000), which adds a panel control, DVEs and clip storage, was presented in the InfoComm 2006. Slate 2100 switcher, unveiled at IBC 2006, adds more inputs, keyers, clip channels, and redundancy to meet the requirements of the most demanding applications of live television. The robotic control of the cameras is optional. All Slate switchers are scalable later in 2007 in order to provide HDTV inputs and outputs.
