Apple introduced Final Cut Studio 2, a major update to the Tools Pack video production, offering new creative tools designed especially for publishers.
Final Cut Studio 2 includes Final Cut Pro 6, which debuts the ProRes 422 format, from Apple, for uncompressed HD quality, with file sizes own SD quality and support for multiple video formats and frame indexes in the same timeline; Motion 3, featuring an intuitive 3D environment, Paint and new features behaviors; Soundtrack Pro 2, with dozens of innovators tools for multitrack editing, for mixing surround and to conform sound with image; Compressor 3, which offers powerful batch encoding (batch mode) for multiple one-click formats, and DVD Studio Pro 4.2, for creation of DVDs in SD and HD format. Final Cut Studio 2 also includes Color, a new professional correction application and color termination to ensure color consistency and create characteristic atmospheres or color environments.
At the core of Final Cut Studio 2 is Final Cut Pro 6, whose new formatting timeline open allows editors to mix and match virtually any video format and frame rate index in the same timeline and without transcoding. Premieres in addition, ProRes 422, a new post-production format of 10 4:2:2 bits, full raster, which produces amazing HD quality with SD's own file sizes, which make it ideal for work efficiently on both SANs and a laptop MacBook Pro. Companies including Panasonic, Sony and RED, give their support to ProRes 422 as an innovation for its future generation of cameras.
Final Cut Pro 6 also includes optical flow based on SmoothCam technology to eliminate accidental camera movements by means of tools simple and easy to use. Deep integration with Motion includes the ability to edit directly in Final Cut Pro Motion templates with areas for dropping video and editable text.
