Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI), recently showed the Pure Digital Fiberlink 7500 series, a transmission system over fiber that allows, for the first time, a DVI link over a single fiber.
This device transmits the full resolution of a single DVI link (up to 1920 x 1200) plus stereo audio, over a single single-mode fiber and supports distances of up to 15 kilometers. The transmitter provides a loop-through for monitoring, EDID and the receiver has two DVI outputs. The system does not use any type of compression, scaling or conversion of the color space. It comes for mounting in a separate box or as a rack card.
