The Matrox Group of Products for Video announced the release of version 2.5 of Matrox Axio, for REAL-time HD and SD editing platforms. The version 2.5 offers significant new changes including editing native real-time files for MXF Panasonic P2, Sony XDCAM and Sony XDCAM HD, as well as native real-time editing of the JVC ProHD HDV 720p format.
"In this new launch, we improved the flexibility of the workflow of Axio. Editors can now use workflows without tapes, traditional tape-based workflows, or a mixture of the two. Axio allows them to easily work with any format," said Ankit Patel, product manager at Axio. "Many other new features in the release 2.5 also help to increase productivity, allowing Axio users do more work in less time."
Other new features in Matrox Axio version 2.5 are:
- Backup to native files MXF for Panasonic P2, Sony XDCAM and Sony XDCAM HD in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Native HDV 720p edition (JVC ProHD) in all frame ranges.
- Matrox File Backup HDV and Matrox Flex CPU effects in Adobe After Effects.
- 4:2:2:4 (YUVA) MPEG-2 I-frame and uncompressed codecs in HD and SD.
- Backup to DVCPRO HD in all the frame ranges of 720p.
- Support to Panasonic VariCam.
- Improved operation of the HDV editing.
- Real-time mixing of traditional timeline formats - MXF, AVI, MPEG, HD 1080i on an SD timeline.
- Real-time playback of native Adobe HDV files, such as .MPEG and . M2T.
- Improved tools for color correction.
- Results "what you see is what you get" for Adobe Bridge and Windows Media Player.
- Matrox EZ-MXF Utility for backup of native MXF files in video for Windows applications (AVI).
- Eight new effects: crystallization, cubes, impressionist, reflections of lenses, movement and scale, old films, undulation and twists.
