V-me, the new American network Spanish-language television will bring a new kind of entertainment to Latino viewers, presenting the best of public television.
Through its relationships with world-class content producers and a unique alliance with state public television stations United, V-me will be a fresh alternative on Spanish-language television that entertains, strengthens and inspires its viewers. V-me is the first alliance announced by the newly formed company media production and distribution V-me Media Inc. The Chain launches as a digital network with 24-hour transmission continuous, presented by public television stations and transmitted by basic digital cable and satellite.
"Across the United States, the Latinos want more from media: more visibility, more quality and more options," said Carmen DiRienzo, president of V-me. "V-me offers smart entertainment that explores the Hispanic interests and issues shared with all Americans; and connects the great diversity of communities in the whole country."
V-me is programmed for the most of 30 million bilingual Latinos, whose mother tongue is Spanish, but they were born in the United States. It will be released in I associate with stations in cities with Hispanic markets important as New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, San Francisco, San Antonio, Albuquerque / Santa Fe, Harlingen, San Diego, Sacramento, Fresno, Denver, Tucson and Orlando. At launch, V-me will be in markets that represent more than 60% of all Hispanic households in the United States United and will be broadcast to approximately 24 million American households. During its first year, V-me awaits increase its distribution to 50 million households.
V-me will be included in the service basic digital cable companies in the United States. Public TV broadcasters will receive V-me without any cost and can customize some service segments with local content.
