JVC Professional Products announced that the new version 5.0.2 of Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 features native support for .mov files recorded with JVC ProHD camcorders. This version is a free update for Adobe CS5 customers and is available in http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/.
Previously, Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 provided native support for .MP4 files and some. Mov. However, it did not support .mov recorded with JVC ProHD video cameras that use the XDCAM EX codec within QuickTime.
With the update, Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 offers native format support, so any footage recorded with JVC ProHD video cameras can be imported directly into the timeline without the need to transcode.
