Labofilms is the largest film laboratory in Latin America. Among its main clients are Fox, UIP, Buenavista, Columbia, Warner, Gussi, VideoCine, among others. He makes copies for Mexico and all of Latin America, except Brazil and Argentina; he has even on some occasions produced copies for the United States of projects aimed at the Spanish-speaking population of that country.
Labofilms is a family business, created 35 years ago by Enrique Alagón, with a great responsiveness thanks to its installed industrial infrastructure. It has all the necessary processes for a cinematographic laboratory, such as printers, developers, ultrasonic machines for negative cleaning, color analyzer, telecine, high-speed projection room and 35 mm projection room. Thanks to this team and its highly qualified staff, Labofilms has gained the trust of the North American and Mexican distribution companies mentioned above.
"Although the growth of digital cinemas barely reaches 5% of all global cinemas, Labofilms always aims to be at the forefront of technology; in this way, and supported by the services of Serbromex, it has created the company called Labodigital, specialized in DI or digital intermediate, "says Guillermo Alagón, general director.
Serbromex is a Mexican company specialized in digital intermediate and representative of Chrome-Imaging for Latin America. Chrome-Imaging sells the equipment needed to finish content in 2K and 4K, located at the heart of a digital intermediate stream. Serbromex is in charge of the installation of the equipment and the training of Labodigital personnel.
"Our goal is for our client, Labodigital, to maintain its prestige with the new services it will be able to provide to the Latin American film industry in general," says Charles Barthe, CEO of Serbromex.
Thanks to this integration, Labodigital aims not only to position itself in the area of post-production but also to provide currently natural and necessary services for a laboratory the size of Labofilms. With the new equipment, Labofilms and Labodigital will be able to offer 35 mm and 16 mm scanner services at 2k and 4k, a whole series of post-production processes, as well as the delivery of data in 35 mm. With this company, the group also enters a new, more specialized market niche, such as the regionalization of trailers or subtitling, among others.
