Arri will present this year the new Arri X Ceramic 250 and Studio Ceramic 250, whose Philips ST 250 HR discharge lamp, produces a quality light of 3200 °K of tungsten of long life and high efficiency.
The Studio Ceramic 250 uses the cover and all the accessories of the popular Fresnel Arri Studio 1K. The 175 mm lenses produce a smooth, uniform field with a projection angle of 10° over the object and 57° over the area.
The technology of the Arri X reflector and the diffusion crystal provide excellent light distribution over a 112° field. The addition of Arri's specular intensifier and a Chimera diffusion display turn the Arri X Ceramic 250 into a powerful soft light, with an output of 2000 W from just 250 watts.
Its low power and high efficiency offer economy in both energy consumption and air conditioning. The 4000-hour long-life lamp saves substantially on maintenance costs of tungsten lamps.
At just 250W, Arri Ceramic appliances produce significantly less heat than tungsten appliances and are cool to the touch, even in 24/7 work environments.
Arri will also introduce the new Arrimax 18/112, the most powerful HMI reflector available at the moment. The Arrimax, a perfect choice for productions that require maximum light output, combines the variable projection amplitude of a Fresnel and the light output of a PAR. The Arrimax uses a unique reflector concept for projection control that eliminates the need for expansion lenses. The optical system, with its 580 mm specular diameter and flattened reflector, is adjustable and provides continuous focus from 15° to 50°.
The new 18,000 W lamps use a stable GX51 base, for which Arri designed a special lamp holder. The clamp mechanism, self-adjusting, uses a folding arm. The new lamp holder accepts any type, ensuring that operators can also use 12K lamps with G38 bases.
Finally, Arri will present the Arriflex D-20 camera with its new Arri FlashMag 112, a solid-state recording apparatus that can be mounted on the D-20 for cable-free operation. The Arriflex D-20 is a cinema-like digital camera, which has an optical viewfinder and accepts all 35mm lens formats.
