The recent acquisition of Leitch (which had absorbed Inscriber and Videotek), makes Harris' show at NAB 2006 a very broad portfolio of products.
These comprise all phases of the digital media workflow: creation, management, distribution, and delivery.
Harris will showcase the entire content delivery portfolio, bolstered by the addition of Leitch's broad range of HD products and the latest applications of the H-Class content delivery platform. Harris' offering comprises solutions for consumption, digital asset management, traffic, programming, automation and TV transmitters.
Along with Leitch's products, which serve professional and video streaming companies, Harris also offers systems for news post-production, brand and graphics management, storage and servers, routing and distribution, signal processes, signal handling and testing and measurement.
This year, Harris will occupy two different booths at NAB. The South Pavilion booth (SU2929) will feature a host of new products and in-depth demonstrations of solutions for creating, managing and distributing content. This includes:
- Leitch non-linear editing for video solutions and servers for production and newsroom.
- Master control and brand management solutions from Leitch, along with multi-vision.
- Leitch signal processing infrastructure, monitoring and control systems.
- Leitch's portfolio of routing solutions.
- Equipment for testing and measurement of Videotek.
- Graphics systems and character generators.
- H-Class content delivery platform, emphasis on H-Class airtime sales, H-Class programming, H-Class digital asset management, H-Class media consumption, H-Class channel continuity automation, and H-Class intelligent transportation.
- New advantages of solutions for channel continuity automation for ADCTM and D-Series.
Leitch's portfolio complements Harris' current management and networking solutions, uniquely enabling broadcast professionals to work more productively and derive greater value from assets increasingly found in complex media supply chains.
Harris' central hall booth at NAB (C807) will demonstrate solutions that distribute and deliver audio and video content. Such solutions include:
- Transmission systems for television, radio and mobile television.
- Solutions for high definition (HD) radio.
- Studio consoles and equipment, studio-to-transmitter links, and studio-to-studio audio transportation.
