Leitch announced the availability of version 9.1 of VelocityQ, the non-linear editing system for standard definition post-production. The new version has novel tools for color correction, collaborative workflows, audio processing, wider format support – including direct support for DV25 and DVCPRO content from Panasonic's P2 product series – and several ui improvements.
Randie Fowlie, Vice President of Leitch, stated that "existing VelocityQ users have been waiting for these enhancements since we introduced them to our VelocityHD platform. New features and expanded format support make Velocity attractive to more potential customers."
Fowlie also commented that the new features that allow you to register the user profile and the "Detect and Collect" feature will be very useful for collaborative workflows between multiple users. "Also the new DVE floating window and the improved effects keyframer allowed us to refine DVE animations for composition programs in a traditionally exclusive way."
VelocityQ, a combination of Velocity software with Quattrus real-time non-linear editing multi-stream hardware, forms an integrated solution for standard-definition multilayer NLE. VelocityQ can real-time playback of up to four streams of compressed or uncompressed video, has up to six graphics streams, and optionally two or four channels of 3D DVEs.
VelocityQ 9.1 is available as a fully integrated turnkey system or as a set of software and card to be installed on certified workstations running Windows XP Professional.
