TV Paranaense, part of the organization TV Globo of Brazil, has acquired an Ai-Pixel system for video streaming real-time over IP between regional TV stations.
Ai-Pixel BV, a designer and developer of advanced digital video solutions for the broadcasting industry, based in the Netherlands, supplies VRX-8100 MPEG-2 digital media servers and set-top boxes SVX-1100, in order to link the three regional stations and facilitate the exchange of news and programs.
The goal is to provide a link bidirectional between the stations located in Ponta Grossa (TV Esplanada) and Guarapuava (TV Guairaca) and an enlance unidirectional from the studio to the transmitter located in Ponta Grossa. The VRX-8100, based at TV Esplanada, can ship two 8 mbps streams to TV Guairaca and the transmitter.

Jacomino, Director of engineering of TV Paranaense, affirmed about the purchase of the system that completed its installation at the end of August 2004: With such wide distances to cover in Brazil, we require a cost-effective method that allows us to exchange news between our regional offices.
