Low latency transmitters for EFP cameras

RF Central announced the launch of the RFX-CMT-II series of camera transmitters, which operate in the 2.9 GHz and 5.8 Ghz bands, and can be configured to deliver signals with a delay of only one video frame.

RF Central announced the launch of the RFX-CMT-II camera transmitters, which operate in the 2.9 GHz and 5.8 Ghz bands, and can optionally be configured to deliver signals with a delay of only one frame of video, enough to allow its integration in form transparent with conventional camera lines. The RFX-CMT-II transmitters, which in their basic configuration support SD signals in SDI or ASI formats with embedded audio, can be equipped with mounts compatible with Anton batteries Bauer, PAG or IDX and it is possible to configure them to trade with signals HD. In its current version, the system is based on the DVB-ASI architecture and can handle data rates between 5.5 and 31.7 Mbps, using MPEG-2 compression with multiple profiles presets, including options with 4:2:2 sampling.

With most digital wireless links available at present, the signal originating in the camera reaches the receiver outputs with a delay ranging from two to six video frames, latency that in some circumstances can produce unpleasant effects when cropping to remote image during a live production for example, a mild repetition of movements that, in the case of productions Sports, it can be quite uncomfortable for the viewer. The option to delay a table includes modifications to the transmitter and a low-latency receiver/decoder set which delivers SD/HD signals.
