Harris Corporation released version 2.0 of its Nexio AMP platform, presented for the first time in the framework of the IBC fair of 2008.
This server includes important developments of software and hardware for its previous version, including a increased density and storage capacity of entry and exit, and reduction in operating costs.
Nexio AMP offers a high-performance architecture for protection of SD and HD content. Leveraging the main advances in processing power and the developments of Server software, Nexio AMP 2.0 increases the platform of input and output with four channels of HD videos – including two intake channels – allowing consumers to use less servers to ingest multiple HD channels with a higher cost efficiency.
The new version also supports 450 GB hard drives in the Nexio storage network, working in conjunction with the new Nexio Media Host architecture to triple capacity shared storage at 72 TB. This version 2.0 is special to support the demand for workflows in the which the common access to share files through the ingestion, news editing and transmission processes it is fundamental for changes of content to the air.
Other features of this new version, Include:
- Integrated encoding and decoding software for the Panasonic AVC-Intra format.
- MXF file sharing enhancements to allow greater interoperability with third-party files, such as Avid and SeaChange.
- Built-in support for importing GXF files.
- Improved support for AFD (Active Format Description).
In addition, it allows you to incorporate additional applications of software within the same computer, such as Nexio AMP Logo for branding, Nexio AMP Multiviewer for simultaneous display of multiple audio and video inputs and outputs, and Nexio AMP Track Editor for manipulation of audio tracks and captioning metadata.
