Cisneros signs agreement with China television

Through this negotiation, China Central Television (CCTV) and Venevision International will join resources to promote the distribution of their content in their respective markets.

The Cisneros group signed an agreement with Central China Television (CCTV) through which CCTV and Venevision International will pool resources to promote the distribution of their content in their respective markets, in an effort to increase the diffusion of Hispanic and Chinese cultures.

The agreement was signed by Gustavo Cisneros, president of the Cisneros Organization, and Zhao Hua Yong, president of CCTV; accompanied by Li Jian, President of China International Television Corporation; Luis Villanueva, President of Venevision International and Ma Runsheng, CPEC General Manager and Assistant of the president of CITVC, among other executives of both Organizations.

This agreement culminates a four-year opening effort of the Chinese and Ibero-American markets, initiated by Venevision International, the Entertainment Company of the Organization Cisneros, and CITVC, the corporation that owns the rights to CCTV which distributes its programming worldwide. CCTV is the main media chain of the People's Republic of China

Gustavo Cisneros has great interest in the Chinese market, given the business potential presented by its growing influence economic worldwide. Moreover, CCTV is well known for the high quality of its productions, and is increasing its international presence given the interest of the audiences in Chinese culture and its powerful presence in the world economy.

The Chinese market is made up of 3,240 television of which 209 are operated by CCTV, 31 are Regional stations and about 3,000 are local stations of different cities. CCTV has 18 channels broadcast at the level national, which include a channel in Spanish and another in French of high definition. CCTV programming also comes to the exterior in English, French and Spanish.
