Doremi has integrated JPEG2000 compression technology into simple, multi-channel HD video servers. JPEG2000 is particularly suitable for HD video compression. It provides two hours of video similar to the uncompressed on just one SCSI hard drive.
Doremi Labs launched the VDR V1-HD compression JPEG2000 last January. The V1-HD offers HD-SDI & SDI input/output and operates as a substitute for any HD VTR. The V1-HD also offers a standalone playback and recording option and a dual-link HD-SDI option.
Its dual HD-SDI link offers 4:4:4 2k resolution for applications such as digital cinema, 3D video and super-wide (stereoscopic) screen video. Its independent recording and playback function is ideal for broadcasting and slow-motion playback of sporting events. In sports applications, one channel can be used to record the event live while the other is available for playback of the recorded video in slow motion.
Doremi Labs will also showcase its new four-channel MCS-HD video server. The MCS-HD server offers two independent playback channels and two HD video recording channels with shared storage and selectable compression speeds.
