Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, will call for the Third Public Tender of 2025 for the award of frequencies in the Modulated Frequency (FM) and Medium Wave (OM) bands.
In this call, 52 frequencies will be offered distributed in 29 locations in 20 regions of the country. These frequencies are intended for educational, commercial and community use.
Some of the locations where the frequencies will be offered are located in Abancay and Andahuaylas (Apurimac); Pisac (Cusco); Ica (Ica); Pacasmayo-San Pedro de Lloc (La Libertad); Nauta and Santa Rosa (Loreto); Huarmaca, Las Lomas and Morropón (Piura); Desaguadero (Puno); Zorritos (Tumbes); Cañete-Imperial-Quilmaná (Lima); among others.
According to the contest schedule, the sale of bases will take place from November 4 to 25, 2025. Its cost will be S/ 30.00 (including VAT). Subsequently, on January 20, 2026, the list of eligible and unsuitable bidders will be published, as well as the partial merit list. Finally, the single virtual public act of frequency allocation will take place on January 23, 2026.
The head of the sector, Aldo Prieto Barrera, reaffirmed the MTC's commitment to transparency and the democratization of communications in the country. "Our goal is to ensure that more Peruvians, especially in regions, have access to their own, diverse and sustainable media," he said.
