Argentina. For the first time in Argentina, IntekTV organized Blackmagic Week, a week dedicated to Blackmagic Design solutions that had an agenda designed for the different sectors of the industry.
The event brought together more than 150 attendees during its two main days at Torrent Studio, and had as its main protagonist the presentation of the Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65, for the first time in Latin America.
The week began with an exclusive event for members of the ADF (Authors of Cinematographic Photography of Argentina), which took place in Buenos Aires and featured internationally renowned guests. This VIP presentation was the perfect setting to introduce the URSA Cine 17K 65, Blackmagic Design's new digital cinema camera recently included in the list of Netflix-approved cameras.
The camera was introduced by Tor Rolf Johansen (ASC), Director of Photography and six-time Emmy winner, who shared his experience and professional vision in front of an audience of 25 prominent ADF members. In addition, colorist Cecilia Belliz (AAC – ACC), Blackmagic Design Ambassador and DaVinci Resolve Master Trainer, gave a technical talk on advanced post-production workflows.
Two thematic days with a comprehensive vision
After the VIP event, Blackmagic Week Argentina 2025 continued with two days open to the industry at Torrent Studio, in which representatives of rental houses, production companies, channels, streamers and film schools participated.
On Wednesday, July 16, the agenda focused on digital cinematography, with sessions focused on Blackmagic camera capture – including the PYXIS 6K and the new URSA Cine 17K 65 – followed by demonstrations of cloud editing with Blackmagic Cloud and the new features of DaVinci Resolve 20. Everything you need for a high-impact film workflow, in one place, as only Blackmagic Design knows how to do. The audience was mainly composed of cinematographers, rental houses, post producers, independent filmmakers and film schools.
On Thursday, July 17, the focus shifted to live production, featuring Blackmagic production cameras like the URSA Broadcast G2 and Studio Camera 6K Pro, and ATEM Constellation production switchers with their professional control panels, followed by demonstrations of all things DaVinci Resolve 20 and how to create broadcast LUTs that make a difference. The day attracted broadcasters, concert and sports event producers, churches, institutional media and YouTubers, in search of professional tools for their real-time workflows.
Each day combined technical talks, networking and interactive spaces with the products. Both Tor Johansen and Cecilia Belliz were once again an active part of the event, sharing their knowledge and answering questions from the audience.
An inaugural edition that positions Argentina
With similar events previously held in Peru and Uruguay, the arrival of Blackmagic Week in Argentina consolidates Blackmagic Design's regional positioning strategy, and strengthens the brand's local presence with the support of IntekTV and its network of authorized distributors.
"This event was much more than a technology exhibition: it represented a unique opportunity to connect Blackmagic Design's latest innovations with those who truly drive the Argentine audiovisual industry forward — content creators. An inspiring week that reaffirms our commitment and fills us with pride," said Mabel Mompó, COO of IntekTV.
He added that "From IntekTV we thank Blackmagic Design and especially Rick Fernández, Director of Business Development for Latin America, for their constant support and commitment to the region. We also extend our recognition to Torrent Studio, and to all the official distributors who accompanied this initiative, contributing to the success of the event".
