Latin America. Atomos announced the new Ninja TX, a completely redesigned and advanced addition to the acclaimed Ninja family of monitor-recorders. While other Ninja models only offer HDMI connections, the Ninja TX features 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 inputs and outputs, plus built-in Wi-Fi and AirGlu timecode technology.
It features an all-new industrial design that improves thermal efficiency, reduces weight and optimizes portability, all in a compact 5-inch form factor.
Despite its size, the Ninja TX offers powerful features that were previously reserved for the Shogun Ultra, but it also supports ultra-fast CFexpress Type B media and recording to external USB-C drives.
The new Linux-based AtomOS operating system offers faster performance, over-the-air updates, and a streamlined user experience. And of course, it includes all the monitoring tools that have made the Ninja the field monitor of choice for video professionals for more than a decade.
Atomos invented the concept of a field monitor that also records on high-capacity removable media. With Ninja TX, this vision takes a big step forward. The addition of high-performance CFexpress media enables ultra-fast RAW video capture, while high-speed USB-C offers the flexibility to record directly to external storage, ideal for long recordings and fast delivery workflows.
An external monitor offers much more control over the shot than a camera's built-in display. The new Ninja TX's 5-inch, 1500-nit display is 50% brighter than other Ninjas and packed with professional monitoring features such as EL ZONE™ false color, maximum focus, waveform, RGB parade, vectorscope, and more, to help creators adjust framing, exposure, color, sharpness, and more with confidence.
Ninja TX is designed for the connected future. With built-in Wi-Fi and AirGlu, it's delivered ready for cloud workflows, including 20GB of free ATOMOSphere storage. Creators can upload material directly to Frame.io, Dropbox, or other camera services to the cloud, or stream it via NDI 6/HX3, enabling real-time collaboration and faster delivery from anywhere.
Also, unlike other models, Ninja TX comes with all major codecs pre-activated, so recording can start right away with the codec best suited for the project. Ninja TX is compatible with Apple ProRes, ProRes RAW, Avid DNx, and H.265/H.264 out of the box. In addition, it supports a wide range of resolutions and frame rates, depending on the camera's output: up to 120 fps in HD resolution, up to 60 fps in 4K UHD/DCI and up to 30 fps in 8K UHD/DCI resolution.
Thanks to its redesigned cooling system, Ninja TX runs quieter and cooler than ever before. Its two USB-C ports allow for the simultaneous connection of external drives, accessories, or calibration devices, while 12G-SDI and HDMI connectivity ensures compatibility with virtually any camera or workflow. Ninja TX is a future-proof tool designed to meet changing content creation needs.
Atomos has developed a unique and robust locking system to firmly hold connected HDMI and USB-C cables. Ninja TX is supplied with special brackets to make this easier. With a USB-C blocking cable included (HDMI blocking cables can be purchased separately), it is the most robust cable system available today.
