Peru. So far in 2025, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, has carried out 2114 measurements of non-ionizing radiation (RNI) throughout the country, with the aim of verifying that telecommunications antennas do not represent any risk to citizens.
These evaluations included measurements in schools, hospitals and other public spaces, as well as at public service stations such as mobile phones, internet and broadcasting. The results are conclusive: none of the emissions recorded exceeds the limits established by national and international regulations.
This ratifies that telecommunications antennas operate within safe levels and do not represent any risk to citizens.
Non-ionizing radiation is present in everyday items such as sunlight, remote controls, or microwaves, and does not have the ability to alter DNA or damage cells, unlike ionizing radiation.
The deployment of telecommunications infrastructure is accompanied by rigorous oversight. The MTC has modern equipment and highly trained technical personnel who carry out constant monitoring throughout the country, ensuring the safety of people. The measurements made make it possible to verify that the installed antennas operate safely.
