International. A little more than two years after acquiring Italian manufacturer Claypaky, Arri announced an agreement to sell the company to a new strategic owner, EK Inc.
Operating one of the most advanced lighting production and development facilities in the industry, EK Inc. provides a strong foundation for Claypaky, a world-renowned brand recognized globally as the preferred supplier in the high-end professional entertainment lighting market.
"This decision is part of our strategic restructuring, as we focus more on our core business," says Chris Richter, ARRI's Managing Director. "Clearly recognizing the potential of Claypaky, it was important for us to find a new owner who will pursue superior growth based on a deep market knowledge and long-term strategic vision, both for Claypaky and its customers."
"Our collaboration with ARRI has been a valuable and rewarding experience," says Marcus Graser, CEO of Claypaky. "We say goodbye with sincere thanks, especially for the knowledge gained through ARRI's deep experience in the film industry, which will continue to influence our future. At the same time, we look forward to the opportunities that the new property brings us. We are confident that we will benefit from EK's strong development, manufacturing and supply chain capabilities, which could open new doors in terms of new product development, scalability and global market access."
More than just a change of ownership, the acquisition highlights the three parties' commitment to their core markets, along with a renewed focus on innovation, operational excellence, adaptability and long-term resilience.
While the details of the integration between Claypaky and EK Inc. are yet to be defined, Claypaky will retain its headquarters and key competencies in R+D and Operations in Italy, ensuring flexibility and continued local value creation in the face of global challenges. The transaction is expected to close in the coming months, subject to relevant regulatory approvals.
