Colombia. On March 10, the third Meca Meeting was held, a meeting of the audiovisual and film industry organized by the Association of Audiovisual and Cinematographic Companies of Medellín and Antioquia, Meca, and which analyzes the possibilities offered by Medellín and Colombia for audiovisual production and the opportunities for local companies.
The articulation between local administrations, as well as local channels and public and private entities for the development of the sector was highlighted.
An example of this is the Creative Industries Cluster that was created in Medellín at the end of 2024, through which the Medellín Chamber of Commerce articulates different promotion, training, training activities in companies in the sector, and financing. This initiative tripled its budget by 2025.
The internationalisation of the sector was also one of the key topics of the day. As a country brand, content production and the creative industries are one of the sectors that are being promoted the most. To this end, in 2024 they participated in international fairs promoting the services offered by the country. One of them was Iberseries, where 36 Colombian companies participated with the support of PROCOLOMBIA.
Without a doubt, Medellín and Colombia are becoming an important stage for the industry and more and more new companies in the sector are becoming more and more companies.
