International. Alfalite's Modularpix Pro VP XR solution is the hub of the new Coruña Immersive Studio (CEI), located in A Coruña and presented as the largest virtual production set in Spain.
The set includes an impressive 28 x 6 meter LED Wall, a 100 square meter ceiling screen and two side LED totems, adding up to a total of 1152 Alfalite VP XR LED panels.
The CEI has been built on a plot of 2539 square meters (of which 750 square meters are intended for the set) in the Cidade das TIC of A Coruña, consisting of two interconnected buildings.
The project has been developed in collaboration with Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA) and Tangram Solutions, two strategic partners of Alfalite that have contributed to integrating the technological solutions necessary to guarantee the success of the study. The investment has been co-financed by the Provincial Council of A Coruña and the Government of Spain through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
The main protagonist of this set is the semicircular LED Wall of 28 x 6 meters composed of 672 Alfalite Modularpix Pro VP XR panels with a pixel pitch of 1.9 mm and a total resolution of 14336 x 3072 pixels.
This main display is accompanied by a 100-square-meter ceiling screen composed of Alfalite Modularpix Pro 3.9 HB VP XR panels, and two movable side LED totems of 2.5 by 4 meters each, equipped with Alfalite Modularpix Pro 2.6 VP XR modules whose function is to provide lighting and reflections.
In total, the set integrates 1152 Alfalite VP XR LED panels that allow film and advertising producers to create immersive, dynamic and hyper-realistic scenarios, endowed with perspective and depth, reproducing with absolute precision any real or fictional location with the ability to interact with physical elements in real time.
"We are proud to be part of this project that will become one of the largest audiovisual hubs in Europe for the virtual production of films and series. We thank our partners Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales and Tangram Solutions, who have led this colossal project and have trusted our technology to meet the highest industry standards," said Luis Garrido, CEO of Alfalite.
Alfalite's VP XR technology has been chosen for its reliability, accuracy and ability to meet the demands of productions in virtual environments, where every detail counts. In this sense, these LED panels have been specifically designed for virtual production ecosystems where it is necessary to interact with cameras and graphics servers in real time, offering superlative functionalities and a color space that enhances the creativity of filmmakers and cinematographers.
The set, which has just been inaugurated, is positioned as a key infrastructure for film productions, series, advertising and live broadcasts, attracting both national and international projects.
