Argentina. The National Communications Entity, ENACOM, modified the General Regulations of Radio Amateurs with the aim of eliminating the periodic renewal of licenses, and thus facilitate and promote the activity of radio amateurs throughout the territory of the Argentine Republic.
In this way, Radio Amateurs, Radio Clubs, Authorized Institutions and Recognized Institutions will no longer have to renew their license every five years as they did until now, since they will not be subject to a time limit. It should be noted that they must continue to present the criminal record certificate periodically every five years for applications for leave, rehabilitation and promotion of category.
With respect to the fees, those corresponding to the procedures for granting and reinstating licenses, promotion of category and authorization of Repeater Stations will be established and collected. Applications for this purpose may be processed through a Radio Club or Authorized Institution, which must present the applicant's documentation, required for each category, and pay the corresponding fees.
Modifications were also made to the Question and Answer Bank for Examination on Regulations and Operational Ethics, as it includes issues related to duration, validity and renewal. It should be noted that the licenses for the installation and operation of stations of the Amateur Radio Service and Amateur Radio by Satellite are granted for the purposes of learning, study, experimentation and intercommunication, all on a non-profit basis.
Communications through their stations must use clear, dignified and respectful language, understandable by any other radio amateur. In addition, amateur radio activity includes the eventual participation of the same in the cases determined by ENACOM in matters of public protection, civil defense and relief operations, in the formation of emergency and/or disaster networks.
