Latin America. The next generation of ARRI's soft light was unveiled at the IBC Show, the new SkyPanel S60 Pro, which combines the benefits of the SkyPanel S60-C with upgrades that meet the needs of today's professionals.
At the same time, it offers exceptional cost-performance and versatility. The new SkyPanel S60 Pro is true to ARRI's heritage and creates soft, balanced lighting that exceeds even the most ambitious requirements of any film or theatrical production team.
To meet the demands for greater efficiency in production workflows, SkyPanel S60 Pro offers new and improved technical features and is packed with digital innovations. The digital twin, an exact replica of the luminaire in Unreal Engine, developed by ARRI Solutions, offers unparalleled customization and control throughout the production chain.
This digital twin reduces workloads and improves efficiency in pre-production, on-set, and post-production, by allowing teams to quickly synchronize virtual and real camera and lighting systems for live collaboration. CloudIO software also offers increased maintainability. CloudIO is the industry's first digital IoT device to work seamlessly in the cloud, designed by Claypaky. Ideal for lighting professionals and rental companies, CloudIO offers optimized diagnostics, remote support, and comprehensive service.
To allow for greater flexibility and creativity on set, the SkyPanel S60 Pro is configured with 4 LED zones for better pixel control, unmatched color accuracy, and optimal light distribution. With its RGBW LED light engine, which offers a superior color gamut and lighting consistency, the soft light can easily adapt to any style while ensuring that every scene is illuminated with additional output and true, vibrant color. Improved low-dimming performance is also a benefit and allows users to achieve smooth, flicker-free dimming at lower levels for maximum lighting control.
ARRI responded to customer feedback and made improvements to the device's handles, the position of the control panel, and most importantly, its connectivity and control options. The state-of-the-art device features a built-in power supply that helps streamline setups, making the luminaire easier to transport and handle with fewer cables and fewer mounting materials, while maintaining the same size and weight as the classic S60-C.
All ARRI SkyPanels are part of an ecosystem and the new SkyPanel S60 Pro can be seamlessly integrated into existing workflows and wireless configurations with built-in CRMX and Bluetooth for app-based control, such as the ARRI LiCo app, or use 5-pin DMX input and output for robust traditional control, and Ethernet input and output for newer studio installations.
By mixing different SkyPanels, color consistency is ensured and the new S60 Pro is fully compatible with the S60-C's front and fork attachments. Based on the proven LiOS software, SkyPanel Pro users will benefit from the latest software features, such as ARRI ALEXA modes.
The existing SkyPanel S60-C will be discontinued following the launch of the SkyPanel S60 Pro.
