Peru. IntekTV made a successful assessment of Blackmagic Week Peru 2024, which was held in Lima from July 15 to 22 under the slogan "Discover the Colors of Peru with Blackmagic Design".
This event brought together more than 300 professionals from the audiovisual content creation industry in a display of innovation and technology. In addition, the virtual broadcast of the event allowed not only in-person attendees, but also spectators throughout Peru, Uruguay, Bolivia and other countries, to join and witness this event.
The week began with two workshops at the Country Club of Lima, where experts Tor Johansen and Diego Yhamá shared their vast knowledge and experience with the attendees.
In the first workshop, Tor Johansen presented the latest innovations in Blackmagic Design film cameras. The session highlighted the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K, the most advanced digital equipment on the market, as well as the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K, known for its large 6K sensor, ideal for high-quality productions. However, the real star of the session was the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K that was presented, with great expectation, for the first time in all of Latin America.
The second workshop, led by Diego Yhamá, Master Training at DaVinci Resolve, focused on post-production. Yhamá introduced the new DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel, offering a detailed explanation of the latest updates to DaVinci Resolve Studio 19, including a neural engine that allows regions to be automatically tracked using artificial intelligence, as well as stereoscopic tools, more Resolve FX effects and Fairlight FX audio plug-ins, and advanced image color grading features with high dynamic range.
The event continued with a VIP session with Tor Johansen, organized for The Kubricks team, where renowned producers Milo Radovic and Hellman Gil shared their experiences with Blackmagic Design technology.
In addition, a special episode of Coloristas Hispanos was made, in which noted colorist Fabio Bedoya explored cinematic color restoration in DaVinci Resolve Studio and digitization with the powerful and versatile Cintel Scanner. We discussed what can be achieved with traditional tools and what new processes can be implemented to try to rescue as much information as possible from historical material in 35mm, 16mm and 8mm films.
Finally, the week concluded with a visit to the Faculty of Communication of the University of Lima, where Diego Yhamá offered a training on the novelties of DaVinci Resolve Studio 19, giving students and professors the opportunity to update their knowledge in one of the most advanced tools in the sector.
