Argentina. The Chamber of Telecommunications Cooperatives of Argentina (CATEL) and 5G Americas signed a Cooperation Agreement through which they commit to jointly lead actions aimed at promoting the development of information and communication technologies in Argentina and the region.
This collaboration mechanism consists of providing mutual technical support in terms of research and specialized information, as well as the planning and implementation of activities, such as discussion forums.
5G Americas is an industry organization comprised of leading service providers and manufacturers in the telecommunications industry, its mission is to facilitate and promote the advancement and transformation of LTE, 5G and beyond technology throughout the Americas. For its part, CATEL is a non-profit entity that brings together cooperatives interested in the development of communications services of all kinds in Argentina, promoting the improvement of these services, generating discussion forums, sponsoring the technical, commercial and legal development of initiatives that promote the advancement of communications; as well as research and development of new technologies and business practices that translate into the progress of services.
Within this framework, both organizations will undertake collaborative work for the exchange of information on programs, publications, reports and research results, among others, associated with ICTs, as well as the execution of specific projects or activities.
"We have established a new instance of cooperation, thus strengthening our commitment to work articulated with the protagonists of the telecommunications and ICT sector. CATEL is an entity that has always been close to 5G Americas, with remarkable and disruptive leadership and achievements, which have materialized the dream of leading the Argentine cooperative sector to be a relevant player at the national and international level and turn it into an example to follow for connectivity in remote and rural areas. We could not be prouder to establish this alliance that will undoubtedly be very positive for both parties and for the sector," said José Otero, Vice President of 5G Americas for Latin America and the Caribbean.
In this regard, Ariel Fernández, president of CATEL, said: "We have many expectations, it is the formalization of a work that we have been building for years with 5G Americas and with the leadership of José Otero. Since our beginnings they have set their sights on our association, have followed our growth, have supported, and promoted every step and every achievement of the chamber. Today, formalizing this agreement does nothing more than give us prestige, not only for the entity with which we are doing it, but also for the human resources staff who work there. We are confident that this is another step in the right direction, which is nothing more than showing new and creative models of ICT developments in those places where it is more difficult to be".
