Colombia. The Ministry of ICT of Colombia held the recognition ceremony for the winners of the Abre Cámara 2024 call. During the event, the 95 winners of the six calls were presented, among whom the $27,378 million (about US$6.6 million) destined for the production of the projects presented will be distributed.
"Today we celebrate the creativity, talent and desire of the country's producers to tell what we are. It is something that, in addition, has transcended our borders, because with 68 productions participating in festivals around the world, where we have the talent of Colombians through numerous platforms that have allowed the stories of our country to reach all corners of the planet. I want to express my most sincere gratitude and congratulations to all of you, who are responsible for capturing the creativity and art of our reality in Colombia's public television," said the Minister of ICT, Mauricio Lizcano, during the event.
The evening was also attended by great promoters of the audiovisual industry and the general managers of several of Colombia's public channels, including Alejandro Linares, from Canal Trece; Carolina Joya, from Canal TRO; Ismael Fernández, from TeleCaribe; Margarita Arango, from TeleAntioquia; Paula Arenas, from Canal Capital, and Amanda Jaimes, from TeleCafé.
The productions financed by Abre Cámara have not only been recognized nationally, but have also shone on the international stage. In total, 68 Abre Cámara productions have participated in different festivals in more than 20 countries, demonstrating the quality and international reach of Colombian talent.
