Colombia. The Regional Audiovisual Dialogues are part of the CRC's strategy that aims to educate about the importance of the audiovisual ecosystem and citizen participation, promoting its recognition and appropriation by the audiovisual sector and civil society through educational resources and spaces for dialogue.
The first meeting will be held in Bogotá, on June 13, the date on which the 70th anniversary of the first television transmission in Colombia is commemorated, initiating the development of a national reflection on the role of content in the construction of identity and the current situation and future of our television. The agenda will be developed around three themes: the present and future of television, public policy on audiovisual services and the relationship with audiences in the new scenarios of audiovisual consumption.
The event, which will take place in the Germán Arciniegas Auditorium of the National Library of Colombia starting at 8:00 a.m., will be open to the public, with prior registration, and will be broadcast live through the Commission's official YouTube channel and its Facebook page.
The following dialogues will be held with the support of universities and regional channels between the months of July and October in the cities of Medellín, Bucaramanga, Cali, Barranquilla, Tunja and Armenia.
"The CRC enthusiastically announces the start of regional dialogues, with which we highlight the vitality and relevance of television in Colombia, in a context in which, despite the multiple options for consuming content in the digital environment, this continues to be the main means of information and configuration of regional identity and collective memories. These meetings will highlight the great production of regional television, its technical quality, and the diversity of themes and characters that reflect the cultural richness of the country and contribute significantly to information pluralism. With these dialogues, the CRC reaffirms its commitment to support and strengthen television as an essential pillar of culture and communication in Colombia," explained Mauricio Vera, Commissioner of the CRC.
