. In a call to the media industry to commit to creating genuine professional development opportunities, the International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM) calls on all companies in the sector to sign the lifelong learning manifesto.
This initiative seeks to focus attention on the need to address the shortage of technical resources in the global broadcast and the sector in general, which is directly affecting growth and order fulfillment for suppliers of technology products and services.
For Roger Crumpton, director of education, training and employment at the IABM, "the signing of the manifesto is intended to encourage technology providers, industry associations and other participants in the media industry to make a public commitment because we are sure that unity makes strength."
By signing, companies and organizations publicly acknowledge their responsibility to develop and train technicians and engineers to ensure and sustain the growth of the sector and although it does not commit them to specific action, it is required to make a statement of support.
